Eleven years ago my husband was diagnosed with atypical cells in his esophagus. In a state of shock I called Wendy to ask for help. We wanted to locate the very best surgeon and needed answers as to how this would be treated. Wendy immediately found the top thoracic surgeon at the University of Michigan. Her knowledge and connections in the medical community were a huge benefit. She helped us immensely. She explained the nature of the disease and the ramifications of having your esophagus removed. It was a frightening experience and Wendy’s calm, determined nature guided us every step of the way. Within a month after having his esophagus removed, my husband was back on the golf course and shortly thereafter eating a normal diet. We celebrate his good health everyday. Wendy’s knowledge and resources are impressive, however her kindness and compassion are without a doubt priceless.

As a founder of Beth Israel Medical Center’s, Center for Health and Healing, I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Sharon Ufberg. I was impressed with her dedication to a truly integrative approach to health and healing. She readily collaborated with medical physicians and health practitioners to ensure best outcomes. Dr. Ufberg regularly taught and participated in the weekly case conferences with the Integrative Fellows and medical students from Albert Einstein Medical School here in New York City. Her knowledge and openness to the full spectrum of healing options for patients was always a great addition to our healthcare team.

Wendy has been exceptionally kind, supportive, caring, practical, experienced and very professional. At such a shattering time in one’s life, the patient/client, his/hers family members and friends can only pray to find a person with such qualities and qualifications. In Wendy my brother did. With her he shared and discussed every detail of his condition and situation. Every possibility was considered. Every decision was weighted from every possible angle. Coupling the diagnosis and the treatments with everyday life was a great challenge, which they met together head on. What would maximize his energy? What would minimize his discomfort and stress, both physical and mental? What would add to maintaining the highest quality of life, for him and for his loved ones?
Wendy accompanied him on this journey until the last breath. For twenty-seven months, twenty-four more than he had been given. Months for which I deeply believe we can only thank Wendy. Without her presence as his advocate, without the practical advice and professional networks she brought with her, thanks to the information she tirelessly searched out about the alternative approaches of both Western and Eastern medicine (nutrition, exercise, visualization), my brother would have never had the quality of care and the quality of life which he experienced until the very end. The process of his illness became the process of his healing, the healing of old wounds. And of reaching a state of peace and a state of grace he had never known in the past.
For these many reasons, and more, I write this personal testimonial. From the bottom of my heart.

Having someone close to you be very ill is one of everyone’s nightmares. A few years ago my uncle was diagnosed with cancer and I witnessed how it threw everyone’s world around. Having Wendy guide and advice us was such a huge blessing. Besides all her knowledge, suggestions and experience her presence was an incredible support for everyone. I can’t even imagine what it would have been like without her advice & support. I wish everyone could have such support, though I know that there are only a few very fortunate people who receive it. Since this all happened I’ve been attending medical school, and looking back now, I can appreciate even more what she meant to us, and I am even more thankful that she was available for all of us during that time.

It is my great pleasure to write this personal testimonial regarding Wendy Field’s desire to work with and support cancer patients. I first really got to know Wendy when she was helping for my dear friend. My wife and I were absolutely amazed at her dedication, knowledge, and experience. We remain convinced that her support & guidance gave him a few more excellent years of life. Wendy is not only a gifted RN but has experience in medical/ legal field, which can be a tremendous asset for anyone in need of accessing the medical/legal community of today. Wendy has contact with the best doctors and clinics in America today, both of her own children being top doctors in the field. Most of all, Wendy is one of those rare human beings who genuinely cares about people and is completely dedicated to her craft of healing, advocacy and nurturing.

My brother-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two-and-a-half years before he succumbed.
During that period I spent weeks and sometimes months at a time with him, and have witnessed how he was supported through difficult times by his family, friends and by Wendy Fields, who supervised the care he received.
I have been very much impressed by her acute sense of observation, her gentle but decisive way of caring, and by the broad range of her experience which consistently helped to relax the sometimes stressful situations.
I have seen that her clear vision lead to noticeable improvements in his condition throughout the long illness.
I feel that my brother-in-law Richard, himself a surgeon who actively investigated any possibility to stand a better chance in his fight for life, has had the best possible support and guidance by Wendy throughout his ordeal.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Wendy for eight years. She is an indomitable force and leaves no stone unturned when looking for a solution. Her broad based medical knowledge is impressive and what she doesn’t know first hand she’ll quickly discover through medical research or contacts throughout the scientific community. Wendy is one of the most competent, intelligent and hard working individuals I’ve known. She has an uncanny knack of finding solutions to what may seem like unsolvable problems. Her kindness and compassion are two of her strongest attributes. She is definitely the person I want on my team.
